Here are some of my essential items that I swear by during the second trimester of pregnancy. Some I’ve used with all my pregnancies, and some are new items that other mamas have passed along. Either way, you cannot go wrong with having some or all of these on hand during these long, TEN months.
Storq Signature Leggings My super generous and lovely mama friend gifted me a pair of these leggings, and I will never go back – BEST GIFT EVER! Incredibly soft, and feels like heaven. I have always felt that traditional athletic legging material is too constrictive for me the further along I get, and these are just so comfy.
Lululemon Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve 2.0 Shirt I have three of these long sleeve shirts, and they’re awesome since they stretch with your growing belly. I have heard from so many mamas, that these are their go-to, pregnancy-friendly workout shirts. Moisture-wicking, and who doesn’t love thumb holes?! NOTE: Size up at least one size. I also linked some budget-friendly options below that come in several colors:
Swollen feet and ankles are a thing by now…. Since I am working from home while pregnant and chasing two toddlers, slippers are basically my only footwear choice. And yes, I have definitely gone into Starbucks wearing these, because at this point, I have no shame.
During my second and third pregnancies, I craved carbonation AKA cherry Pepsi. I’ll admit not the best choice, so I try to swap in some sparkling flavored water when I can. This is also helpful in the first trimester when you are fighting nausea and morning sickness. I like Hi-biscus the best.
I have been working really hard to consistently get enough protein during this pregnancy since I have been disgusted by the thought of a chicken breast – YUCK. So, I make a Blender bottle of this powder with 8 ounces of water or almond milk almost every day, if I can remember. I prefer the Vanilla Bean flavor, because it goes well with any smoothie combination, but it also comes in chocolate. I also use the powder in my overnight oat recipes, so good! It’s vegan, non-dairy, Lactose Free, No Sugar Added, Gluten Free, Soy Free, and Non-GM0.
Let’s talk stretch marks. You have to keep moisturized to prevent those lovely stretch marks. I have used the combination of products below during all three pregnancies in combination with the body oil below with great results. I can say, SO FAR, I have only found one new stretch mark. I do have 13 more weeks to go with pregnancy number three, but I am hopeful to avoid more of those tiger mom stripes if I can.
For those mamas who are utilizing a meditation, workout or walking routine, wireless earbuds are your best friend. I like to use them for phone calls when my hands are occupied with toddlers or cooking dinner as well.
You are going to grow out of your bras before baby arrives, so you might as well start using your nursing bras during pregnancy. I have worn these for nursing my two babies, and these are super comfortable! I went ahead and started wearing my nursing bras during this pregnancy, becuase all my other bras were getting tight around 22 weeks. Might as well have them in rotation, since I will need these handy once baby is here.
Just ordered this pregnancy wedge pillow, and I am so glad! I started having trouble sleeping around 24 weeks, and this wedge pillow was a game changer! Memory foam with a washable cover, and you can finally stock up on that sleep before baby arrives.
